The Outlook for Energy: A View to 2030
Lecture by Mr. Reinhart Papen,
ExxonMobil Executive & President of TorayTonen GK
The nuclear accident in Fukushima and idling of most of Japan’s nuclear reactors resulted in substantial mandatory power-saving efforts this past summer, and reignited the debate on nuclear energy. The debate on Japan’s energy policy will likely dominate the national political discourse for some time to come. The outcome however, will be strongly linked to the energy policy and outlook on a global scale.
Mr. Reinhart Papen, ExxonMobil Executive & President of TorayTonen –a joint venture between Toray and ExxonMobil—will share the forecasts and future outlook from ExxonMobil on global energy consumption for the coming decades.
In 2030, what types of energy will the world use, and how much? How will demand patterns evolve in various countries as populations grow and living standards continue to improve? What role will new technologies play in reshaping the energy mix, improving efficiency and curbing energy-related carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions?
The presentation and Q&A will be followed by a networking cocktail from 6:00PM onwards.
